Unleash your creativity, develop essential skills, and earn volunteer hours with Call & Response!

Call & Response invites high school students to embark on a transformative journey through 10 dynamic weekly workshops. Delve into the world of music and diverse art forms, while honing leadership and communication abilities. Engage in enlightening conversations with seasoned artists and Hall professionals, and forge lasting friendships along the way.

Participants of Call & Response are also encouraged to apply for the prestigious Youth Musician Commission (YMC) and continue contributing as volunteers at our renowned Halls. No prior experience is necessary – just a passion for creativity and learning!

We are now accepting applications for the Spring 2025 session of Call & Response! The Spring 2025 program will take place at the Allied Music Centre on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-6:30pm, beginning on March 19 and ending on May 21.

What the Students have to say about their experience:

"All the workshops were really fun and exciting. It was nice to meet new people, learn about individuals' jobs, learn new things, and have fun. I do not have one singular favourite part because I loved all of the Call &Response, and I am so happy that I had the opportunity to participate."
Emma - Grade 11

"My favourite part is always hearing what other people have to say and sharing ideas with each other. I'm really going to miss seeing everyone each week."
Aliyah - Grade 11

"My favorite part of Call & Response that day was getting out of my bubble and exploring new activities that I haven't done before myself and with others. I liked how the host challenged us to do activities that involve our strong thinking, creativity, body, voice, and our skills. It has definitely made a strong impact in our community to be more engaged and motivated within ourselves and as a group"
Leanne - Grade 11
