    Membership FAQ's

    How Membership Works
Membership is an annual membership, good for a period of 12 months from the month of purchase.

    Show Announcements
As a member, you will receive show announcements to let you know about upcoming shows and when tickets will be available for purchase. These are sent by email so please include your email address when purchasing a membership. During the year the frequency of show announcements varies from month to month and averages out to about once a week.

How to Login and Purchase Tickets
Upon purchasing your membership you can begin to enjoy the privileges of membership right away. If you purchased your membership online, the email and password you used to purchase your membership are also used to login to your Member account. Please go to the Member login page to access your account during each FriendsFirst presale period to ticket purchase tickets. If you are not sure what your password is, or if you have never logged onto our site, use our “Forgot Your Password” button on the sign in page and you will get an email to get you set up.
For the FriendsFirst Presales, you do not need a promo code. This field appears on many of our ticketing pages but is only used in special promotions. Please disregard this during the FriendsFirst priority. If a FriendsFirst special offer requires a promo code, we will include this in our announcement.
You may also purchase tickets by phone at 416-872-4255.

How Marquee Members to Purchase Tickets
Upon purchasing your membership, you will receive an email from the Membership Associate welcoming you to the Marquee Club and connecting you with your Box Office representative. If you have provided an email address, you will begin to receive show announcements immediately, as they are deployed. When you receive an announcement for a show you interested in purchasing tickets for, contact your Box Office representative immediately, by phone or email, and specify how many tickets you would like. Your representative will be in touch with you during the membership pre-sale period and confirm the seats they have reserved for you. Your rep will then proceed to process your order. The most important thing to remember as a Marquee member is that you do not have to wait until the member pre-sale day to book your tickets; you can reserve your tickets through your rep as soon as you receive the show announcement.

    Marquee Members Contact
Your Marquee membership contact at Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall is Aven Hoffarth, Membership Associate. Contact this person at at 416-593-8860 or FRIENDSFIRST@MH-RTH.COM if you have any questions or concerns about your Marquee membership. You will receive special event invitations, welcome and renewal communication, and any membership notifications through the Membership Associate. Your Box Office representative will assist you with booking your tickets and the Membership Associate will happily take care of any additional questions or concerns.

    Ticket Limits
The number of tickets a member can purchase will vary depending on the show. These limits are included on show announcements sent out to members as well as on the online box office pages.
If you would like to purchase more tickets than the posted limit, another person in your party can purchase another membership, but please note that the tickets will have to be purchased by each membership separately. You cannot "piggy back" memberships on one another.
Any tickets you do purchase as a member will count towards the limit of the tickets you may purchase once the presale is over. For example, if the limit on the member presale is 4 and the public limit is 8, you may only purchase 4 additional tickets during the public sale. If you purchase tickets above posted limits, these tickets will be refunded without notice.

    Upgrading a Membership
To make sure that you are able to purchase tickets immediately during pre-sale, you need to purchase the Platinum membership. If you currently have the Friend ($100) level and would like to upgrade, purchase the full Platinum membership ($250) to have access to tickets.

Please call the box office at 416-872-4255 to upgrade your membership.
You will be contacted shortly after upgrading about a refund on the balance of your existing membership. The refund will be calculated on the number of months you have left on your current membership. Your new Platinum membership will then be active for 12 months from when you purchased it. This process is due to the tax receipt that Platinum members are entitled to and we need to make things very clear for the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency)

    Membership Cards
Royal and Marquee members receive a membership card, showing their account number and expiry date. It can be used as proof of membership to access events and tickets.

    Sharing Marquee Memberships
Each membership is for one person, or those with live-in partners or spouses can add their partner to the membership. Marquee memberships cannot be shared between friends or couples who are not living at the same address.

Marquee Access to the Tricon Lounge
All Marquee members have the opportunity to enjoy the exclusive Tricon Lounge at Roy Thomson Hall. This Lounge is open only to Marquee Club, Marquee Circle, and Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s Maestro’s Club members. Marquee membership allows members to enter the Lounge with one guest. To enter the Lounge with more than two people, Marquee members must present guest passes at the door. Members receive guest passes for the Lounge in their Marquee welcome and/or renewal packages and more can be purchased through the Development Associate.

    Restrictions
We make every effort to satisfy the concerns and interests of all members for all performances.
On most shows we have tickets put aside for FriendsFirst and Marquee members. These are allotted on a first-come first-served basis and by level.
Shows presented by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra are not included, and occasionally, we are not able to provide tickets to select shows. In these rare instances, we will do everything in our power direct you to tickets in other ways.
Please note in some cases ticket inventory on select shows is very limited and restrictions may apply to either the quantity you can buy or the membership levels that tickets are available for.

    Reselling and Transferring Tickets
Any tickets you buy using a membership are personal licenses and are not transferable. You cannot resell, give away or dispose of your tickets for any promotion of products or services or any other commercial purpose without the express written consent of the producers. Violations of these conditions may result in the non-refundable cancellation of your membership.
