(TORONTO – October 3, 2024) – Today Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall launche a 5-week fundraising campaign to support its Education and Community Engagement programming initiatives.

Over the next few weeks, the goal is to raise $15,000 to ensure that these vital Education and Community programs thrive and inspire more lives to help foster the next generation of artists and music enthusiasts. Donations can be made via the official fundraising page.

As a charitable, not-for-profit organization, Massey Hall & Roy Thomson Hall endeavours to give back to the community and inspire culture and creativity through various programming initiatives. This month, as the fundraising campaign takes flight, these two iconic venues will also shine a light on some of the incredible work that the Education and Community Engagement team facilitates throughout the year. Programming highlights such as:

Share The Music “Offering free concert tickets to underrepresented students, allowing them to experience the joy of live performances.

Youth Musician Commission & Call and Response “Cultivating the next generation of artists and culture leaders.

LETS (Learning English Through Song) & The Lullaby Project “Bringing inclusive music programs to priority communities and spark their creative talents.

Massey Hall & Roy Thomson Hall’s inclusive Education and Community Engagement programs connect and inspire individuals from all walks of life, giving everyone a chance to take the stage. ABOUT ALLIED MUSIC CENTRE::
Allied Music Centre is Canada’s new state-of-the-art cultural ecosystem with four venues devoted to live music, artist development, community outreach, and educational programming. Established in 2021 as part of the Massey Hall Revitalization Project, Allied Music Centre includes iconic Massey Hall with it’s remarkably restored Allan Slaight Auditorium and the Muskoka Spirits Basement Bar, TD Music Hall, opening soon, a 150-capacity community theatre. Plus, Allied Music Centre is home to The Deane Cameron Recording Studio and creative edit suites for the world’s top musicians, emerging artists and community groups alike. Massey Hall is one of Canada’s most revered cultural institutions and a designated National Historic Site. Built in 1894 by Hart Massey, Massey Hall was gifted to the citizens of Toronto and now operates as a charitable not-for-profit organization. Remaining true to Massey’s vision, the organization devotes much of its focus to artist development, community outreach, and educational programming.

ABOUT ROY THOMSON HALL::
Roy Thomson Hall is a registered not-for-profit organization and, along with its sister-venue Massey Hall, devotes much of its focus to artist development, community outreach, and educational programming. Opened in Fall 1984, Roy Thomson Hall is renowned for being home to The Toronto Symphony Orchestra and to many of The Toronto International Film Festival gala events. The hall’s inspiring architectural vision, designed by Arthur Erickson, is located right in the heart of Toronto Entertainment District.
